sudo systemctl stop suricata.service. To restart it: sudo systemctl restart suricata.service. To check its status: sudo systemctl status suricata.service. Raspberry Pi - configure automatically daily restart / reboot with cron. 20. October 2015. A nice thing is the ability to perform actions automatically to defined times with the cron daemon. Those like me who has difficulty to use with vi, can be pleased, because the necessary command to configure sudo crontab -e opens the nano editor.
The most likely reason is that your scripts require a resource or a service that's not yet available when cron is started. This is commonly encountered when running scripts @reboot that use networking resources - as yours seem to do (i.e. curl).. If this is the problem, it's easy enough to fix by running sleep for 15 seconds or so before you invoke you script.
