Pipewire replaces both pulse audio and jack. The programs will however "think", they are still using pulse audio or jack. This vid made me realise I need to at least try to use to pipewire.

Mar 02, 2021 · PipeWire. By 2016, Taymans started rethinking the foundations of Pinos, extending its scope to become the standard Linux audio/video daemon. This included the "plenty of tiny buffers" low-latency audio use case typically covered by JACK. There were two main areas that needed to be addressed.
PIPEWIRE_LATENCY=256/48000 your_application. Notice that this will only change the ratio between buffer size and samplerate. It is not (yet) possible to change samplerate at runtime, so if you try something like this while the jack.properties node.latency is set to 48000: PIPEWIRE_LATENCY=256/96000 your_application.
PipeWire is a new low-level multimedia framework. It aims to offer capture and playback for both audio and video with minimal latency and support for PulseAudio-, JACK-, ALSA- and GStreamer-based applications. PipeWire has a great bluetooth support: because Pulseaudio was reported to have troubles with bluetooth, PipeWire can be a good alternative.
PipeWire provides drop-in replacement libraries for JACK, and a small pw-jack utility to run JACK applications using PipeWire. It's as simple as: $ pw-jack <application>.
